African Reconstitution of the Political

The constitution of the political itself is ‘colonized’ by such elements as the paradigm of difference/alterity (friend-enemy dialectic/differentia specifica), the will to power, paradigm of war (homo polemos/warrior tradition), and Darwinian ideas of survival of the fittest. The consequences of this constitution of the political resulted in social classification of human population in accordance with invented differential ontological densities, enslavement, conquest, colonialism, racial hierarchization of power, arms race, nuclear proliferation, ideological warfare (Cold War), rule of ‘Man,’ accumulation of weapons of mass destruction, and naturalization of superpower nations. This project deploys decolonization in its inquiry into anti-colonial and decolonial African leaders’ visions of a postcolonial and postracial world and how they practically tried to reconstitute the political in their individual countries.
